In 2022, Pembina implemented several improvements to reduce absolute emissions, including the completion of the Empress Cogeneration facility and various efficiency enhancements. These actions resulted in an annual reduction of approximately 60,000 tonnes of GHG emissions. Additionally, Pembina aligned its financing strategy with ESG priorities by establishing a sustainability-linked loan, which includes annual targets that align with their trajectory towards a 2030 goal. They also secured renewable energy sources through power purchase agreements, such as the offtake of 105 MW from the Wild Rose 2 Wind Farm.
