In 2023, Villeroy&Boch made significant progress in reducing CO₂e emissions, achieving a reduction to 90,805 tonnes from 115,964 tonnes in the previous year. This was primarily due to plant shutdowns and more efficient production. The company has been working on a new firing process using alternative energy sources and has installed the EnerViT system at the Mettlach site, saving approximately 16% of natural gas in the firing process. Additionally, over 9,000 m² of photovoltaic systems were installed across domestic and international sites, generating 978 MWh of electricity for internal use. These efforts are part of the broader strategy to achieve CO₂e neutrality by 2040.
