Edison Next has launched several projects to improve sustainability and reduce CO₂ emissions. For instance, the partnership with Barilla involves modernizing the trigeneration plant to achieve energy savings of 20% of primary energy. Additionally, a 20-year PPA has been entered into for the Berco site to design, construct, operate, and maintain a photovoltaic plant, which will cover 9% of the factory's electricity needs from renewable sources. For the Pascual food group, the aim is to make the Aranda de Duero complex and the Gurb site net zero by 2026, with initiatives including photovoltaics, biomethane, and bioCO₂ production, water treatment, biomass, and energy efficiency.
