In 2023, Austevoll Seafood Group achieved a 7% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions compared to 2022. This reduction was largely due to unfavorable weather conditions linked to El Niño in Peru, which affected production. The majority of emissions stem from the use of fossil fuels for fishing vessels (Scope 1) and primary processing facilities (Scope 2) in Peru and Chile. Several portfolio companies have implemented emission reduction initiatives and are committed to further reducing energy consumption and transitioning to renewable power where possible.
