- VTB Bank PJSC has been subject to the most stringent US OFAC, EU and UK sanctions following Russia's February 2022 invasion of Ukraine including full blocking sanctions, expulsion from SWIFT for most operations, and the freezing of approximately USD 60 billion in foreign reserves under the Russian central bank exposure, plus the contested USD 800 million-plus US asset confiscation under the Russian Harmful Foreign Activities sanctions regime.
