Progress against targets

GAIL has made progress towards its net-zero target by increasing renewable energy generation from 581 TJ in FY 2021-22 to 810 TJ in FY 2022-23. The company is implementing measures such as minimizing fugitive emissions, converting compressor drives from gas turbines to electric motors, blending bio-methane and hydrogen in its fuel gas system, and improving process efficiency through digitalization and Industry 4.0 practices. These efforts are part of GAIL's operational excellence strategy to reduce emissions and achieve its net-zero target by 2040.
