Progress against targets
ⓈCompany sustainability reportLUKB is progressing towards its 2030 net-zero target for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Since 2014, the bank has significantly reduced its direct and indirect energy-related emissions, despite increased business volumes. The reductions have been achieved without purchasing carbon offsets. Direct emissions (Scope 1) mainly come from oil and gas consumption for heating and fossil fuels for vehicles, with the gas-fired heating system at the head office being a major contributor. The bank prepares an annual environmental footprint to track emissions and reduction effectiveness, using industry standards like the VfU-Kennzahlen and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
