  • The company, the largest U.S. producer and distributor of fresh shell eggs, was found liable by an Illinois federal jury in November 2023 (in In re Processed Egg Products Antitrust Litigation) alongside other major egg producers for conspiring to limit the domestic egg supply through flockreduction and export schemes to raise egg prices charged to food manufacturers between the late 1990s and 2008, with damages later trebled under U.S. antitrust law.
