Swisscom has made significant progress towards its net-zero target by reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions in its Swiss business by 88% since 1990, with a target of 90% by 2025. Scope 3 emissions have been reduced by 38% since 2013, with a target of 50% by 2025. In 2023, Swisscom reduced its total emissions by 1.6% compared to the previous year, partly through the expansion of photovoltaics, producing 3.49 GWh of energy from 114 new solar installations. The company has been offsetting residual emissions since 2020, with 220,125 tonnes of CO2 offset in 2023, representing over 69% of unavoidable residual emissions. Swisscom continues to monitor and adapt its strategies to ensure effective carbon offsetting and progress towards its net-zero goals.
