Since the establishment of the Energy Management Program in 1996, UNB has achieved a 40.2% CO2e avoidance from the 1996 baseline. The program has avoided the use of 815,417,548 lbs of steam and 108,261,801 kWh of electricity, and conserved 2,669,591 m3 of water. In 2018, funding of $4.1 million was approved for the Saint John campus, resulting in a forecasted annual cost avoidance of $0.52 million across 17 buildings.
