Since 2022, Benchmark has set a Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions reduction target and has been publicly tracking and reporting progress towards this goal. The company aims to reduce its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 15% by 2025 from a 2021 base year. Progress is measured against GHG emissions during the base year, 2021, when an emissions inventory for all sites under Benchmark's operational control was completed. Additional details on GHG emissions and inventory can be found in the CDP Climate Change response. In 2023, Benchmark installed electric vehicle charging stations at its Santa Ana, California facility, global headquarters in Tempe, Arizona, and Mesa, Arizona manufacturing facility to facilitate fossil-fuel-free driving by employees. The company is also pursuing opportunities to expand renewable energy use by procuring renewable electricity and installing solar panels on a site-by-site basis, with rooftop solar panels at the Korat, Thailand facility generating up to 160 kilowatts of AC electricity, or 2% of its annual energy use. A rooftop solar panel project at the Suzhou, China facility was completed in late 2023.
