  • The company agreed in April 2022 to pay more than $84 million to resolve U.S. Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations, after admitting that between 2011 and 2016 its subsidiaries in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico paid approximately $10.5 million in bribes to government officials, recorded in books as 'commissions' and 'expenses', to obtain and retain public wastedisposal contracts and secure favourable regulatory treatment.
